Another guitar pick design.
Enjoy :)
(88 is a gauge of a pick. Yes it's Dunlop's type pick - they make absolutely awsome guitar picks and 0.88 Tortex is the best one out there)

Not bad!

I like these Picks! Tortex Picks are cool, yes...
But for the most part, its personal preference...

Meh, being a MetalGuitarist... now, i remember times, when i played .12 - .56 Strings and used 2mm Heavy Picks XD

Thank you :)
Yes, Dunlop's totrex are realy good picks. Now i'm testing Ultrex (also 0.88 gauge) and they seem to worn out slower and have a little brighter sound, but they are not so great-green as tortex ;).

I'm using Ernie Ball strings .10-.46, fits me perfectly :) What kind of strings do You use?

Depends on which guitar and which tuning we´re talking about.

I have been experimenting a lot with picks and strings. Like i said: At times, i used .12-.56 Strings and 2mm Heavy picks... And for Rhythm-stuff that can sund really Bold and powerful, but of course its harder to play and costs a lot of strength...

Now, for my strat in Standard-tuning i use .10 - .46 Earny Balls, too, but i think i will try out more brands and gauges, too... For example, i have a set of Dunlop-Strings here, same gauges, that i want to try, soon. On this guitar and tuning, I also had some great experiences with strings from a brand called "Maxima" (i think O.o), which are *chrome-plated* , which i found very interesting, and so i tried them... In my oppinion, they sound a little brighter and more metallic, the artificial harmonics turn out a little more "squeaky" and i believe, they are little more durable... But i didnt like em for clean sounds as much...

And on my other guitar (Jackson RX10), i have been experimenting the most, because its tuned down a full step to D-G-C-F-a-d (sometimes i even use Drop-C, C-G-C-F-a-d).
And thats where i tried this thick gauges and such... had good experiences with S.I.T. Strings, but somewhen during Experimenting, i stuck to GHS Boomers, currently .11 - .50 , which are just thick enough to work for the tuning, but still comfortable enough to play... Want to try DR-Strings for this somewhen...

By the way: Do you have any experiences with these coated Elixirs ....? Are they really worth their money?
I recently saw, they even have *color coated* strings O.o

Ernie balls rocks :). I mainly use Drop D tuning, and set i've mention earlier is ok for me. Yes, i've tried other brands of strings, GHS, Dunlops, Elixirs (even black coated ones O_o), and after all i was always coming back to EBs - maybe they are not so durable as Elixir strings but they have a great sound and are quite friendly for my wallet ;). Elixirs are not worth their money, in my opinion. It's a matter of taste, but i don't like their sound. Ok, they sound fresh longer than the others, but it is still not enough for me ;P
As of now i have only one guitar, but the one that i can completly relay on, Ibanez RG :D, with 'few' modifications. Recently i've changed my pickups into active EMG (KFK set) and they are reeeealy great. Most people said it's pickups only for metal - ok, it suits metal perfectly, but it's ok to play bluesy stuff on it, overall great pickups :)

Ahhh... Ibanez RGs are great guitars... And they are not as overly expensive as other "high performance"-guitars... for example ESP, which i LOVE....

I just whish, my guitars were in better shape... the floyd on my Jackson is broken, and i need a replacement... its still playable, but impossible to set up correctly, because one of the bolts is damaged... also i need a new input jack and volume poti... The humidity in the rehearsal place of the band i played with didnt do her any good.

And yeah, its a common misunderstanding that EMGs are metal Pickups ONLY. Tis not true... I mean, after all it depends on WHICH EMGs you pick and lust but not least how you USE them and play!

I mean, even Steve Lukather from Toto uses EMGs ... and thats not really Metal! and the EMG-60 (hope i am right here and not confusing the model numbers O_O ) has such a classic "PAF"-like sound... and EMGs can deliver fabolous Clean sounds, too! Plus: They are virtually NOISELESS and you dont loose any treble, even if you use long cables.

Earlier, it was said tht Active Pickups would sound "sterile"... tis not true either... they sound only sterile if you PLAY sterile, haha... Well.. I think, people think that, because EMGs are brutally HONEST! They transport the sound of the instrument very DIRECT and honestly, without any "polishing".

I for my part like EMGs, too, but i have Armstrong-Pickups on my Jackson. Not that i prefer them, these are the "factory" pickups of the guitar, and they are not bad.

I would really like to try Seymour Duncans LiveWire Series... I´ve heard the Blackouts are great.

And with Elixirs... mhmmm... I can inagine that they sound a bit "dampened", maybe, because of the coating.
